ABOUT ME

I grew up in Herefordshire in the UK, a small farming county with lots of beautiful countryside and I have been drawn to rural places ever since.

I studied Human Resource Management & French at Keele University, which involved a year abroad at a French Business School. With a few twists and turns along the way, including some time spent in Frankfurt, my journey has led me to Luxembourg, which I now call home.

I have been living in Luxembourg since 2003 and have now spent more than half my life outside the UK. I am proud to have acquired Luxembourgish nationality in 2017.

In Luxembourg, I have worked in Human Resources for large international organisations including KPMG and Clifford Chance, where I was heavily involved in recruitment. This involved reviewing CV’s and interviewing people of many nationalities and in various languages, as is normal for Luxembourg.

I have studied Luxembourg Labour Law (Droit du Travail) and Luxembourg Company Law (Droit des Sociétés) and hold a Certificate in Coaching. I am an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development in the UK (CIPD). I have also completed a European Masters in HR (taught in French, full title: Mastère Européen en Management des Ressources Humaines - Spécialité Luxembourg).

My current role involves preparing people for the recruitment process, whether they are new to Luxembourg or students about to enter the workforce for the first time. It is always very satisfying to see my clients’ confidence building as we work together. Having lived and worked in 4 different countries myself, I know how daunting it can be to look for work in a foreign country and in a different language.

I am active within the English-speaking expatriate community and also volunteer with local organisations such as Dress for Success and Jonk Entrepreneuren.

As a family, with our 3 boys, we enjoy walking in the local countryside and forests. I’m happy to pass on my love of nature and watch my own children grow up in a rural setting – just with a few more languages to add to their future CV’s!
